Center for Learning
Support For Your Unique Journey
Worcester Academy's Center for Learning (CFL) provides specialized academic support for students with documented learning needs. The CFL offers targeted, strategic instruction to foster success and independence, focusing on areas such as time management, organization, note-taking, reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and test-taking strategies.
Student-Centered Learning Services
- Development of a comprehensive learning profile identifying each student's strengths and weaknesses.
- Regular consultation and collaboration with classroom teachers to implement recommended strategies.
- Support with assistive technologies, including access to digital texts when available.
- Timely communication with parents or guardians, including formal progress reports.
- Coordination of in-class test-taking accommodations and assistance with applications for accommodations on standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.
Enrollment in the CFL requires a current (within three years) neuropsychological or psycho-educational evaluation documenting the need for academic support. Individualized support plans are developed based on each student's specific needs, with associated fees determined by the number of sessions required. These fees are in addition to standard tuition and are detailed in the enrollment contract.
Fees and Program Rates for 2025–2026
Fees for the CFL are based on the number of sessions per rotation to which students are assigned and are in addition to the tuition stated in our enrollment contract. Any changes to a student’s CFL level, including discontinuing CFL support, is handled on a case-by-case basis and is always made in consultation with the CFL director.
