Worcester Academy’s Capozzoli Athletic Center at New Balance Performance Park is now fully open and serving students, teams, and community partners. This 70,000-square-foot, two-level facility represents a bold investment in athletic excellence, student health, and neighborhood engagement—and stands as a defining milestone in the Academy’s nearly 200-year history.
The Capozzoli Athletic Center strengthens the Academy’s mission by providing students with access to top-tier athletic and wellness resources while extending our impact beyond campus.
A Vision Realized
Made possible by a historic $20 million gift from Ron Capozzoli ’49, the Capozzoli Athletic Center reflects Worcester Academy’s commitment to creating an environment where students can thrive academically, physically, and emotionally. Located at New Balance Performance Park on Providence Street, the facility transforms the former Saint Vincent Hospital site into a vibrant hub for athletics and community connection.
What the Facility Offers
The center is designed to meet the needs of today’s student-athletes while welcoming families, alumni, and neighbors into a modern, inclusive space.
Highlights include:
- Multiple competition and practice courts for basketball, volleyball, and additional indoor sports
- A 6,000 sq. ft. training & conditioning center outfitted with modern training, wellness, and recovery equipment
- Indoor swimming pool for athletics, wellness, and potential community programs
- Contemporary locker rooms and team spaces designed to support performance, belonging, and team culture
- Comfortable viewing areas that enhance the spectator experience during competitions
- Community room for meetings, events, and neighborhood gatherings
