Social Emotional Learning & Health

Approach

All Middle School students at Worcester Academy are part of an advisory group that gathers every morning for check-ins, fostering a strong sense of community and support. In addition to these daily meetings, students participate in four weekly sessions dedicated to our comprehensive social-emotional curriculum.

This carefully designed program covers essential areas such as study skills, digital citizenship, cultural competency, and health and human development, ensuring that our students grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.

Application: Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship students embark on an eye-opening journey into the digital world, gaining a deep awareness of their device and media usage, and its impact on their relationships and well-being. They cultivate vital media literacy skills, mastering the art of evaluating websites and discerning the truth amidst the noise by detecting bias in news sources. This transformative experience equips students to navigate the digital landscape with confidence, responsibility, and critical insight.
