World Language

Approach

The World Language Department opens a door to the world by immersing seventh- and eighth-grade students in language, histories, and cultures. With intensive practice in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, students develop effective communication skills and ease of expression.

Through the study of their chosen language, they begin to develop linguistic competency and an understanding of how language relates to the history and culture of places that differ from their own.

Application: Francophone Animals Book

Middle School French students put new vocabulary and grammar skills into practice by creating a book highlighting their study of French-speaking countries and their native animals.
